 On Photon is the brainchild of Christiaan Wessels, originally from South Africa. Chris immigrated to Raleigh, North Carolina in January 1999 along with his Mother, Father and Brother. Trained classically on the Violin, in the Suzuki vein of schooling, Chris soon realized that his deep appreciation for classical music stemmed from his own desire to arrange and "compose" music. In the tenth grade, after a poignant encounter with his grandmother, he found himself banging away at his mother's German piano. Soon after high school graduation he had already written a handful of songs and had picked up the guitar and drums. He relocated to Asheville, North Carolina to live with his brother, and upon taking his first job he met Ben Field. The two of them shared the same interests both musically and socially, and decided to start playing together. As time went on, Chris began corresponding with Terpsikhore founder and owner J.K Horne III. It was decided that Chris would start recording for Terpsikhore and upon hearing the news Ben contacted a drummer he knew. James and Ben grew up together in Los Angeles, California and have been in and out of bands with each other since they were kids. On Photon EP coming in early 2008. On Photon in the Studio
